Composition is the arrangement and organisation of visual elements (lines, shapes, colours, textures) within an artwork. A good composition has:

- Balance: Visual weight distributed evenly

- Focal point: A main area of interest

- Unity: All elements work together harmoniously

- Variety: Interesting differences that prevent monotony

- Movement: Elements that guide the viewer's eye through the artwork
